When someone searches “dentist near me” or “SEO company in Delhi”, Google shows a map with three businesses first. Those listings come from Google Business Profile (GBP)<\/strong>, and they get a large share of calls, visits and direction requests. The good news: GBP is free and a careful set-up can lift your visibility within weeks. Use this checklist.<\/p>\n

1. Claim and verify your profile<\/h2>\n

Search your business name, claim the listing and complete verification (video, phone, email or postcard). An unverified profile cannot rank well or be edited fully.<\/p>\n

2. Use your real business name<\/h2>\n

Use the exact name shown on your signboard and documents. Adding keywords to the name violates Google’s guidelines and can get the profile suspended.<\/p>\n

3. Choose the right categories<\/h2>\n

Your primary category is one of the strongest ranking signals. Choose the most specific one, for example “Digital marketing agency” rather than just “Marketing”. Add secondary categories only if they are accurate.<\/p>\n

8. Collect genuine reviews<\/h2>\n

Ask happy customers for reviews right after delivery using your short review link. Never buy reviews or offer rewards for positive ones. Quantity, quality and recency all matter.<\/p>\n

9. Reply to every review<\/h2>\n

Thank positive reviewers by name and respond to negative reviews politely with a solution. Replies show future customers that you care.<\/p>\n
